APCMPC 2023
Amiyaprabha Chaudhuri Memorial Society, Agartala, Tripura announces the 9th annual “Amiyaprabha Chaudhuri Memorial Photography Competition-2023” (APCMPC-2023).
This is the largest photography competition of the North East India and Sikkim – this year carrying a cash prize value of over INR 1.5 lacs to be won!
There is no entry fee.
We have changed the categories based on inputs from our participants, judges, and well-wishers. So please read the section below carefully.
Main Rules & Regulations
(Applicable only to APCMPC 2023)
Most importantly:
You MUST email the images to apcmpc2015@gmail.com
You also must mention the following in the subject line of the e-mail with every image you submit.
apcmpc 2023-category-submission number
e.g. apcmpc2023-Wildlife-Submission no. 1 (2,3-etc)
Minimum file size is 3 MB. Otherwise, the entry may be rejected.
1. Submission period: Oct. 1 – Oct. 31, 2023.
(Submission will open at 12:00:01 am (IST) of Oct. 1st, 2023 and will close on 11:59:59 (IST) of Oct. 31st, 2023)
2. APCMPC-2023 will be limited to 3 categories:
1) “Tripura – I Love You” (TILU)
(An Image directly related to the state of Tripura taken by anyone. This category is no longer limited to the photographers of Tripura )
Two other categories below are open to all:
2) Wildlife Photography (Including birds)
3) Portrait Photography (Indoor or environmental)
Each of these 2 categories will have First, Second, and Third prizes and 2 “Special Recognition” winners.
“Tripura – I Love You” will have 5 “Special Recognition” prizes in addition to the regular First, Second, and Third prizes.
3. Prize Money:
In each category:
1st Prize – INR 25,000.00
2nd Prize – INR 10,000.00
3rd Prize – INR 5,000.00
Special Recognition – INR 2,000.00
4. A photographer will be able to submit up to 3 images in each category in which he/she is eligible.
5. A total of 18 winners will be selected from all categories.
6. Award money will be directly deposited to the bank accounts of winners. Winners will be required to provide their bank information to apcmpc2015@gmail.com when requested.
7. Results will be announced during the month of December 2023. The specific result date will be announced later.
8. 8. Images for the competition MUST be sent to apcmpc2015@gmail.com, the details of which have been given
above. This is MANDATORY.
Uploading the approved submitted images to our Facebook group page will be done by the APCMPC administrators. Identification of the participating photographers will be replaced with a number to keep the participants anonymous.
Contestants are advised NOT to attempt to upload their entries directly to our FB group pages – they will not be approved.
Submissions posted only for uploading to our Facebook group page but not emailed to apcmpc2015@gmail.com will be rejected.
9. Amiyaprabha Chaudhuri Memorial Society (APCMS) will have the right to reject any image without giving any reason.
10. The decision of the judges will be final, binding, and will not be subject to appeal.
11. Images submitted must be as per our restrictions and rules. To know more, visit www.apcmpc.com and click on “Rules and Regulations.”
12. The results can always be criticized in a healthy manner. However, any personal attack, slander or vilification of the judge(s) or members of APCMPC/APCMS will result in a lifelong ban from the group.
13. Any attempts to communicate with a judge to influence the result will make the person disqualified for life from the competition

DETAILS OF RULES & REGULATIONS
1. ELIGIBILITY
1.1 Wildlife and Portrait Photography are open to everyone.
1.2 Tripura I Love You (TILU) category is also open to all starting 2023 annual competition but images must be directly related to the state of Tripura.
1.3 The family members and close relatives of the organizers will not be eligible for participation
2. SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
Artifical Intelligence (AI) generated images are not allowed. Please do not submit any such image.
2.1 Images MUST be emailed to apcmpc2015@gmail.com.
2.2 Uploading image for competition on our Facebook group page by the participant is not allowed.
2.3 Photographs for competition submitted only on our Facebook group page but not emailed will be rejected.
2.4 Submitted images should be in JPEG format.
2.5 In each category where he/she is qualified to submit, maximum of 3 images per category can be submitted. So, A competitor can submit a maximum of 9 images.
2.6 Digital manipulation that distorts the reality of the images will not be allowed. Only basic enhancements such as sharpening, contrast/brightness adjustment, or simple cropping are allowed. Saturation /vibrancy adjustment may be allowed to a very small degree. Any addition or subtraction (cloning in or out- except dust spots removal) will immediately disqualify an image.
2.7 Digital framing should not be done
2.8 Scanned pictures/slides are acceptable-and scratches and dust spots can be removed by software during scanning but not by cloning afterwards.
2.9 Blended images are eligible but composite of multiple pictures are not eligible except simple stitched panoramas.
2.10 The organizers reserves the right to reject images with incomplete details required under the photo submission tags described in no.11 above.
2.11 All submitted images become the property of the organization. The Organization reserves the right to use the image for future publicity/promotion & if done so, the owner will be informed.
2.12 The participant should be able to send the original high res image/RAW image on request.
2.13 The submissions will open on Oct. 1st, 2023 and will close on Oct.31st, 2023, 11:59:59 PM – Indian Standard Time (IST). The Organisers reserve the right to change that deadline if deemed necessary.
2.14 Photographers submitting from other countries (in different time zones) should pay attention to the deadline date and time as mentioned above.
3. COPYRIGHT/INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
3.1 Each image submitted must be the original work of the participant who must also be its copyright owner. Any dispute arising out of a copyright issue will have to be handled by the participant. The organisers will not be responsible or liable for any copyright infringement. Images that include paintings, statues, sculptures and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not infringe copyrights or commit fraud. Individuals should be prepared to provide judges with a release form and/or a model release if asked. The image must be an original image taken by the Contest entrant. By entering the Contest, the entrant acknowledges, represents and warrants that the image is an original work created only by the entrant and the image does not infringe or misappropriate any copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy/publicity or other intellectual property or proprietary rights. Images that are obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate will not be accepted.
3.2 The participant will retain copyright to the image entered for the competition.
3.3 By submitting an image for the competition, the participant will be regarded as having granted the organiser the right to use the image in print, broadcast and/or electronic media without any fee payment, for the purposes of promoting the competition Where any image is so used by the organiser, the participant will be acknowledged accordingly.
3.4 Images received by the organiser through the competition will not be used by the organiser for commercial purposes without the participant’s written consent.
4. PRIZES
4.1 Award money will be directly deposited to the bank accounts of winners.
4.2 The organisers reserve the right to change or replace the competition prizes and/or modify the rules and regulations of the competition as and when deemed necessary, without prior notice.
4.3 The winner of the prizes will be solely responsible for paying taxes (if any) on the prize money.
4.4 The society will not be held responsible if incorrect bank transfer information is provided by any winner.
5. JUDGING AND RESULTS
5.1 The images will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by the organisers and their decisions will be final and binding. No correspondence pertaining to the selection process and decision will be entertained. No person will be able to challenge the decisions of the judges in a court of law.
5.2 The panel of judges will evaluate the images individually and create a result sheet. Defined aspects of the picture will be looked at, scored and averaged
5.4 The judging panel reserves the right not to award any prize if the images submitted do not meet the standards set by them previously.
5.5 Results of the competition will be declared on the last day of the exhibition and prizes will be awarded in the closing ceremony of the exhibition. The date, time and venue of the exhibition will be announced well before the set date.
5.6 No personal communication in any form will not be entertained and any solicitation/backing will immediately disqualify the participant.
6. ACCEPTANCE OF RULES AND REGULATIONS
6.1 By submitting an image for the competition, the participant will be regarded as having accepted and agreed to be bound by the rules and regulations of the competition.
6.2 While the organiser will exercise due care during the collection, selection and storage of images, they will not be liable for any loss, theft or destruction of the images during transmission orsubsequently..
6.3 If any conflicting issue arises subsequently, the Organisers reserve the right to add/delete/modify/change rules and regulations at their sole discretion.
6.4 None of the decisions/changes made by the Organisers can be challenged in a court of Law.
6.5 The organisers will have the right to cancel the competition, if deemed necessary, without giving any reason.
6.6 Photographs submitted will not be returned in any form.
7. Representations and Warranties
By submitting a Contest Entry or accepting any prize, you represent, warrant and covenant the following: (a) you will not submit content that infringes or otherwise violates any copyrights, trademarks, trade secret rights or other intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the content and to grant APCMPC all of the rights granted therein; (b) you will not publish falsehoods or misrepresentations that could damage the reputation of APCMPC sponsor ; (c) you will not submit content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, violate any law, or is otherwise inappropriate or destructive to APCMPC or any Sponsor’s brand image or goodwill; (d) you will not post advertisements or solicitations of business; (e) neither APCMPC nor any Sponsor will be obligated to pay any compensation to, or permit any participation by, any third party in connection with the use, reproduction, modification, publication, display or other exploitation of any of the content that you submit; and (f) the content submitted by you does not contain any viruses, Trojan horses, worms or other disabling devices or harmful code.
8.Organisers:
The organisers are a group of passionate photographers who are dedicated to advancing the art of photography in Tripura. They were individually selected by Swapan chaudhuri, MD, who conceived this noble idea to promote photography in Tripura-the state in which he was born in and brought up.

Sir, can i post three (3) pictures from each category i e. from General category 3 pic and from “Tripura I Love You” category 3pic or i have to opt any one category?
